Hardship: Help the less privileged, families, out of poverty, Wealthy Nigerians told

All well-to-do Nigerians, both at home and diaspora, as well as corporate organisations have been urged to assist the less privileged in the society and poor families in the face of current socio-economic challenges as government alone can not do it alone.

The National Representative/President , National Governing Body of Inner Wheel Clubs in Nigeria, IWM, Zainab Ikheloa, made the statement at the opening ceremony of lnner Wheel 37th Annual National Conference/Rally of the Club in Lagos, at the weekend.

Declaring the conference open, Ikheloa, thanked God on behalf of all members for 2024 conference themed: “Shine A Light.”saying lending a helping hand to the less privileged would further promote true friendship as they journey in the difficult current year and beyond.

She, therefore, charged members in particular and Nigerians in general to shine a light in all states of the Federation by solving the problems facing families, clubs, districts and communities.

Ikheloa, also called for the financial support of members in order to extend help to the downtrodden and the less privileged in the society.

According to her; “Let me intimate us all that government alone cannot do all these things, we must be a shining example by shining light on the people around us, our communities and indeed the entire country.

“You can see today that we are doing the little we could do by empowering some people with sewing machines, cash and other assistance at our disposal.

Government alone cannot do it, but we as a club are doing the little we could do.”

Also, speaking, the former District Chairman, D912, PDC IWM Sumbo Osunbayo, expressed appreciation to the National Representative and all members of National Governing Body for the success recorded at this year’s annual conference/ rally.
